Young Writers and Illustrators Contest!

Mississippi Public Broadcasting (MPB) invites youngsters to participate in its annual

Reading Rainbow Young Writers and Illustrators Contest .

Children from kindergarten through third grade are encouraged to write and illustrate their own stories and submit them to MPB

by the March 30, 2007, deadline .

This years contest is sponsored by Western New York Public Broadcasting Association and Educate Media Resources, LTD.  You can watch Reading Rainbow Monday through Friday at noon on MPB.

All entries from Mississippi are judged locally. First place winners are selected for each grade level, with each receiving a Reading Rainbow backpack and DVD copy of a Reading Rainbow program.  The first place winners will also have his or her entry submitted for inclusion in the national competition.
