The Pirates of Penzance airs LIVE on MPB-Radio |

( Jackson , Miss.) -- Listen to Mississippi Public Broadcasting (MPB) Radio the evening of Thursday, June 22 nd at 8:00 as "The Pirates of Penzance" airs LIVE from the Gertrude C. Ford Center for the Performing Arts of the University of Mississippi .
This live performance of "The Pirates of Penzance," by Gilbert & Sullivan, is part of the Oxford Shakespeare Festival.
"Mississippi Public Broadcasting is delighted to share this performance of "The Pirates of Penzance" with listeners across the state who may not have the opportunity to travel to Oxford for the Shakespeare Festival," says MPB Executive Director Marie Antoon. "This is one example of the many quality performances to come as the result of our partnership with the Ford Center ."
According to Norman Easterbrook, the director of the University of Mississippi Ford Center for the Performing Arts, the partnership further promotes Mississippi 's vigorous cultural community both regionally and nationally. Broadcasting from the Ford Center showcases the talented performers who live and work in the state and also makes Ford Center programming accessible to a much broader audience.
