2007 Gubernatorial Debate LIVE on

Mississippi Public Broadcasting TV, Radio, Online

(Jackson, Miss.)- As part of its ongoing mission to the citizens across the state, Mississippi Public Broadcasting (MPB) brings you LIVE the second 2007 gubernatorial debate between incumbent Governor Haley Barbour and challenger John Arthur Eaves this Thursday, October 4, at 7 p.m. on MPB-TV, Radio and through video streaming at www.mpbonline.org.

 

The one-hour debate is coming LIVE from Mississippi State’s Lee Hall auditorium and is sponsored by the student Stennis-Montgomery Association, with assistance from the university’s John C. Stennis Institute of Government, Office of the President, and Mitchell Memorial Library’s Congressional and Political Research Center.

 

Questioning the candidates will be Bobby Harrison, Jackson-based reporter for the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal in Tupelo, and Aundrea Self, anchor and reporter for WCBI-TV in Columbus.  Senior Lori Holland of Starkville, S-MA president, will serve as moderator.

 

Additionally, MPB is providing all candidates for State public office a ten-minute opportunity to share their platforms with Mississippians statewide through radio and television.  This MPB

three-part special, Meet the Candidates, airs at 10 p.m. Monday, October 29, Thursday, November 1 and Friday, November 2.  These recordings will be archived on the MPB web site.  Those interested in listening to these interviews should log on to www.mpbonline.org, click on “News” and then “Local News On Demand.”
