The second place winner of the contest was Isabella Kelly, age 10, of Water Valley; who won a $50 gift package. The third place winner was Katrina Kinder, age 12 of Grenada; who won a $25 gift package. A special awards presentation ceremony at the Elizabeth Jones Library was held in Grenada on December 17 for the winners.
“The Holiday Card Contest was designed to inspire creative expression in children through art,” said Nikki McCelleis, MPB Director of Education Services. “We will feature this contest every year to encourage more children to be creative. Mississippi Public Broadcasting thanks all participants who submitted their original artwork.”
“I would like to thank Mississippi Public Broadcasting for having this contest,” said Isabella Kinder. “Inventing this [holiday] card sparked my imagination…MPB is a very valuable channel to watch for kids and adults."
