How Teachers Can Help

Posted by Amber White on

Teachers can be the biggest motivators in a student’s academic life if they decide themselves that a student is worth their effort and guidance.  According to, “a trusted adult or a concerned teacher can be the difference in a child staying in school or dropping out.”  Believe it or not, what these individuals have to say to these students are (or can be) actually retained by these students.  Most kids like structure and guidance but the real tragedy is there usually isn’t anyone to give it to them.  A parent may be too busy with work or a teacher didn’t take the time to care.  Whatever the reason may be, the student has been given up on and the motivation to continue usually dies in the student’s academic early stages.  Once a student leaves school, it’s pretty difficult to convince them to go back to the same place that did not care before.
