Public Funding

Posted by Lexie Griffin on

One in four Mississippi students drops out of high school. Research has shown that, over a lifetime, each of these dropouts costs over $250,000 in extra public funding. Watch the video above and join us to help our students graduate, so we can improve our state.

MPB has joined forces with numerous local partners and at-risk schools in our community to shed light on the dropout problem and share solutions. American Graduate is a long term public media commitment supported by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting to help communities implement solutions to the high school dropout crisis.

The dropout problem requires our attention now, and we want to do our part. Get involved and share your story with us about why you think combatting the dropout crisis is so important in Mississippi and how you can motivate students to get their diploma.
