Family Digital Literacy Sessions (FDLS) were recently held at Commonwealth Village Apartments. Digital literacy has become such an important part of our everyday lives, including the lives of our children. Equipping parents will enable them to further assist their school aged children when using technology. Sessions focused on teaching parents basic skills and knowledge surrounding media and technology use. As a result, parents became better equipped with the necessary information and skills to be successful when utilizing various technology platforms. Participating parents were engaged in each session and mentioned their appreciation for the workshops. Additional activities were included to engage their children in literacy learning. This project is funded by a Ready To Learn grant provided by the Department of Education to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
