Turry Flucker talks to Carolyn J. Brown. Carolyn J. Brown, a native of Greensboro, North Carolina, moved to Jackson in 2006. She is a writer, editor, and independent scholar who has taught at University of North Carolina in Greensboro, Elon University, and Millsaps College. Her work has been published in College Language Journal and Notes on Mississippi Writers. Her non-fiction books include Song of My Life: A Biography of Margaret Walker and A Daring Life: A Biography of Eudora Welty. Most recently, Carolyn authored The Artist’s Sketch: A Biography of Painter Kate Freeman Clark. All three works were published by The University Press of Mississippi.
