The city of Jackson, like many other cities across the country, faces many infrastructure needs. Mayor Tony Yarber has even called the needs a crisis, one that he says the city needs to begin addressing as soon as possible. MPB's Desare Frazier talked to Mayor Yarber at a meeting of the Mississippi Conference of Black Mayors. Mayor Yarber said the infrastructure needs have been largely ignored for a long time.
About five percent of all people go through a period of stuttering when they are young. Most will get over it by late childhood, leaving about one percent with a long-term problem. Now, as MPB’s Sandra Knispel reports, three University of Mississippi professors have come up with a device that promises to help dramatically.
