MPB Nominated for Seven 2017 Southeast EMMY® Awards

Mississippi Public Broadcasting received seven 2017 Southeast EMMY® nominations. The MPB Television productions were recognized for their creative work in front of and behind the cameras.

“The programs nominated exemplify MPB’s mission,” says John Gibson, MPB director of television. “‘Ed Said’ entertains and educates children about making healthy choices. ‘Mississippi’s Free State of Jones’ investigates a misunderstood chapter in our state’s history. And both the ‘Mississippi College Festival of Lights’ special and the ‘Mississippi Roads’ episode celebrate our musical heritage.”

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Southeast Chapter announced the 2017 nominees
in one of the most entered Regional EMMY® Awards in the history of the Southeast chapter. The Southeast EMMY® winners will be unveiled on Saturday, June 10 in Atlanta. The Southeast chapter includes Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, South Carolina, and Ashville, North Carolina.
