Three months into the Jewish year 5776, we finally reach the secular year 2016. To celebrate, this week's “Sounds Jewish” features Jewish tunes conducive to partying and contemplating. Tune in for recordings by the Yiddish Twist Orchestra, Seymour Rechtzeit and the Barry Sisters, Eartha Kitt, Mickey Katz, Yael Naim, DeLeon and Daniel Kahn. Also on tap: the debut of an interview segment featuring musicians and other Jewish cultural icons. This week's guest is Joshua Horowitz of Veretski Pass, whose new CD “Poyln: A Gilgul” explores the missing half of the klezmer revival.
