MSU's Starkville and Meridian campuses will close Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015, due to the current winter weather warning from the National Weather Service and Mississippi Emergency Management Agency. Severe winter weather conditions, including predictions of 3-6 inches of snow in Central and North Mississippi, are predicted to make driving conditions extremely dangerous.
The university will make an announcement Thursday [Feb. 26] at 6 a.m. about the status of the institution for Thursday.
The MSU-Kentucky basketball game will be played Wednesday since the visiting team has arrived on campus, but fans are encouraged to exercise caution and make wise decisions about travel. Follow hailstate.com for more information.

Also, please do not travel to campus. Mississippi State's Wednesday classes, day and evening, are being cancelled for the Starkville and Meridian campuses. Non-essential employees should not report to work. Faculty, staff and students are urged to use caution to ensure personal safety.
Monitor the MSU website and @Maroon Alert for updates. Monitor local news outlets for changing conditions and advisories. Starkville campus residence halls remain open. Perry Cafeteria will close at 8 p.m. today [Feb. 24]. All other campus dining facilities will close at 9 p.m. today [Feb. 24].
Perry Cafeteria will open 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25. Other dining facilities will be closed, including those in the Colvard Student Union.
Mitchell Memorial Library will close at 9 p.m. today [Feb. 24] and remain closed Wednesday. Sanderson Center will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday.
Barnes & Noble Bookstore will close at 8 p.m. today [Feb. 24], and be closed on Wednesday.
Students are urged to use caution as they move around campus. Sidewalks and outside stairs will be extremely slippery and most likely covered with frozen precipitation in some areas.
