If you listen and/or watch MPB then you know that we are taking applications to have your own MPB vanity license plate. Before production can officially begin, the state requires that we have 300 supporters who have applied and paid a $31 fee for a personalized MPB tag.
Unfortunately, we did not reach our goal of 300 applications for the October 1 deadline. We have now extended the application period through January 2017. If we reach this goal in January, our license plates will be available in the summer.
Just think about it; you can sport an MPB tag on your vehicle all while supporting an agency that provides quality programs on TV, Mississippi-centric radio call-in shows, statewide coverage during disasters and bad weather, updated content on mpbonline.org, and local and national documentaries. We are pleased that so many of you have made the high-quality offerings on MPB your preferred choice. And we’re gratified that a number of you support the agency on a monthly basis.
A portion of the revenue received from the sale of each personalized tag will help fund programming at MPB. The car tag is an excellent way for you to publicly show your support for MPB. We know, with your help, that we will reach our goal.
We have always tried to position MPB as “your public broadcasting station.” And since we consider you as a valued partner, here’s what you can do to help us reach 300 and even exceed it.
