Overview

MPB Education Services provides programs, services and support to educators, students and parents in Mississippi that are vital to the educational mission set forth by the legislature. It is the hope of Education Services that all children will enter school with the foundation needed for academic and social success. Through our resources, educators have the opportunities to receive high-quality, online professional development to promote technology in PreK, K-12 and Adult Education classrooms. In addition, our collaborative efforts with schools and communities have proven to promote and support high-quality programs and services for children and their families.

 

Mississippi Public Broadcasting is seeking an Intern to work in the Education Services Department to assist with various community outreach projects initiatives.  The successful candidate must be currently in pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Master’s Degree from a local Mississippi college or university.  The internship is unpaid and will require 20 hours of work.  The Candidate must have exceptional communication skills and be creative.  www.mpbonline.org/about_us/internship/index.htm

Early Childhood (Pre-K)

Mississippi Public Broadcasting’s Early Childhood division is dedicated to providing parents and children with a variety of television programs and resources that encourage learning and activity.  The division is known nationally for its quality and content provided to childcare centers through the distribution of the locally-produced early childhood program, Between the Lions.  Our programming for children along with other outreach initiatives such as Right from Birth and Going to School enable children's learning experiences while encouraging them to read and learn.

Our MPB KIDS CLUB is a statewide club for kids ages 4-12. Club members receive special incentives such as membership cards, discounts at participating sponsor locations, special prizes, and on-air birthday commemorations.  Club members are also encouraged to submit their artwork, stories, songs, inventions, and other creative material to be judged and used on MPB TV, radio, website, and the Fine Tuning Guide.  Join the MPB Kids Club today!

We offer FREE in-school workshops, one-on-one consultations, online professional development programs, and continuing education events.

To further extend MPB’s reach into the community, the Educational Outreach division is committed to promoting educational development and services that meet the diverse needs of the state.  In partnership with other agencies, the division participates in the CPB/Emma Bowen Foundation Summer and Work-study Studentship Grant Programs and also coordinates local events for the community, including the Reading Rainbow Young Writers and Illustrators Contest.
