Ashley Jefcoat has a long history in the tech field. Before she even began school, Ashley was surrounded by the technology of her mom, who worked from home in the field of pharmacutical software. Her mother encouraged her interest in computers, while her dad (who was a deejay and radio personality before becoming a stay-at-home dad) fostered her interest in electronics and media.
She has worked in tech since high school, where she served as part of the student computer-fixing team at the Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science. While attending Millsaps College, she was a part of the student-led ResNet team, responsible for assisting students with their computer issues. She also worked at the College's Helpdesk, assisting professors, guests and others while also creating and teaching training classes. After graduation, she continued to work at Millsaps in the tech field before coming to MPB.
All that to say one thing: Ashley LOVES technology. She lives and breathes the stuff. Her work at MPB has allowed her to expand her interests in media, and Everyday Tech gives her the opportunity to help answer questions, something she is particularly fond of doing.
Ashley lives in Jackson, MS with her partner and furry family - three cats (Hamlet, Wheatly, and Zelda) and a dog (Merrill). She spends a lot of her free time playing video games, reading comics and books, cooking and crafting. If you ask her, she just describes herself as "just some guy, you know?"
