Dr. Andrea Mayfield began her term as Executive Director of the Mississippi Community College Board on December 1, 2015 and joined the MAET Board of Directors January, 2016.
Dr. Mayfield served most recently as president of Shelton State Community College in Tuscaloosa. Prior to that, she worked for East Mississippi Community College from 1996 – 2014, holding positions as science instructor, distance learning coordinator, academic dean, vice-president for academic instruction and vice-president of the Scooba campus. She also oversaw issues related to the Office for Civil Rights and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and served as the SACS liaison for the college.
Dr. Mayfield received her bachelor’s degree (chemistry) from Livingston University, a master’s degree (biological sciences) from the University of West Alabama and a doctorate (community college leadership) from Mississippi State University.
