  • Special election set for February 10th in Senate District 29
    The Mississippi State Senate is ordering a new election for February tenth for Senate District 29. Wayne Sorge was at the capitol as the decision was finalized in that unresolved election from last November. (1:36)

  • Voters in Hinds County for Mississippi State Senate District 29 will get another chance to vote on the contest between incumbent Republican Senator Richard White and Democrat Dwayne Thomas
    Senators debated the issue yesterday with questions over the outcome of the November election because of complaints that there were irregularities including un initialed ballots in precinct 94 in South Jackson. During the debate on the Senate floor Senator Terry Burton argued for the special election to settle the dispute. (0:22)

    The vote was 35 to 13 to have the special election on February Tenth, something that pleased White, but Thomas was disappointed and said he is not sure yet if he will want to run in another election for a Senate seat in which he believes the people have already spoken. (0:21)
