House of Representatives
has voted 82 to 35 to
allow optometrists in
the state to use more
prescription drugs and
write more prescriptions.
The issue was hotly debated
and the measure will now
go to the senate and a
possible conference committee.

Reeves told his fellow
legislators the proposal

Welfare Chairman Steve
Holland said in many
parts of the state there
are no Ophthalmologists
and Optometrists need
the authority to provide

prescription medicine.

Commission to more strictly
enforce indecency laws
on public airwaves
This comes
after the word commonly
referred to as the "f-word"
was used during last
year's Golden Globe
Awards. The FCC ruled
the use of the word
was acceptable, because
it was not used in a
