    Mississippi legislators are wrestling with a potential funding crisis for the insurance plan for state employees. The manager of the insurance plan Theresa Hanna of the Department of Finance and Administration told members of the House and Senate Insurance Committees that without a change in the formula, money to pay insurance claims could run out next November.   • Governor Haley Barbour signed his first bill into law yesterday. House Bill 544 allows maximum security inmates to be housed at a privately run prison in Tallahatchie County
    Officials say the law could help preserve about 280 jobs by giving Corrections Corporation of America more flexibility as it negotiates a new contract to house out of state prisoners. Alabama prisoners who have been there since last summer are being taken back next month. (0:19)
