  • Courts being redistricted
    Some new courts and judges could be added in Mississippi as legislators begin a process of redistricting for the circuit and chancery courts in the state. The process has started in a sub-committee of House Judiciary A committee with Representative Tommy Reynolds heading the effort and considering potential for needed new courts. (0:28)

    Judiciary A Chair Ed Blackmon is optimistic about meeting the needs since any added courts and judges would not take office until 2007 when he is hopeful that the economy will have improved to help pay for the additions. (0:11)
