is introducing legislation
designed to reform workforce
development. Scott Phillips
has this report.

Barbour unveiled two
workforce development
initiatives yesterday
The governor
proposes merging the
State Workforce Development
Council, which oversees
state work force dollars,
with the State Work
Force Investment Board,
which oversees federal
money.
Barbour also proposes
tripling the tax credit
that businesses receive
for providing work force
training. Both ideas
have merit with Mississippi
Manufacturers Association
President Jay Moon.
