of Representatives has
voted to establish a
task force headed by
Governor Barbour and
an advisory council
to address problems
in the Oakley and Columbia
training schools for
juveniles. State Representative
John Reeves of Jackson
advised against establishing
the task force and advisory
council and said the
state should not admit
allegations of abuse
as cited by the U.S.
Justice Department.
