Each week Felder Rushing will talk with professionals and amateurs alike about all aspects of gardening. They’ll also take your calls with any garden-related questions or stories.

Felder Rushing is a 10th-generation Southern gardener whose quirky, overstuffed cottage garden in Jackson, MS, which he shares with his wife and teenage children, has been featured in many magazines, including Southern Living, Garden Design, Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, House and Garden, Better Homes and Gardens, the New York Times, and others.

Rushing, who recently retired from the Extension service as the state's leading consumer horticulturist, has studied gardens around the world, including Europe, South America, and Africa, as well as hundreds of trips around our own continent as he lectures in twenty or more states every year coast to coast. He has appeared on HGTV, Mississippi Public Broadcasting, the Discovery Channel, and has gardening columns in both Jackson's Clarion Ledger and Memphis Commercial Appeal.

He has written or co-authored over a dozen gardening books, including the award-winning Pass along Plants, Gardening Southern Style, and New Junior Garden Book. He has been one of only six members of Southern Living's garden advisory board, and now is a contributing editor for Horticulture Magazine out of Boston.

His articles and photographs have appeared in hundreds of issues of over twenty other magazines, including the National Geographic, Fine Gardening, Garden Design, Country Living Gardening, and many others. He is currently a board member of the American Horticulture Society, National Youth Garden Advisory committee, and honorary member of the Garden Clubs of Mississippi, of which his great-grandmother was a charter member in 1936.

Believing that too many of his fellow horticulturists complicate things unnecessarily, Felder says that we are "daunted, not dumb." He has spent a lifetime trying to make gardening as easy as it is fun.
