| Beauty
and the Beast
On her first trip down the block to the beach since
the storm, Sadie is delighted to explore all the treasures
Katrina left for her. In her innocence, the remnants
of our neighbors lives seem like piles of textures and
playthings.

children of Bay St. Louis are sand and surf starved.
On this day, I gave in and let Sadie splash and squeal
in the water... actually, she made that decision before
I knew about it! |
Long
Fellow House

One
of the few antebellum homes to survive, it was built
in 1850. The Longfellow House overlooks Beach
Boulevard in Pascagoula.

A
Few Feet Away

This
home, just a few feet away was not so lucky.
This
beautiful house was reduced to studs as the surge
ravaged the area.
