Mississippi Public Broadcasting (MPB) proudly introduced Beyond Katrina on
January 26th, 2007at 7:00 p.m. The series followed the rebuilding process of the Mississippi Gulf Coast .
MPB's Beyond Katrina , a news-and-feature style show, reported all aspects of moving beyond the destruction over the months as each of MPB's flagship series joined forces to produce these hour-long specials from various points of view. The combined efforts of crews from Mississippi Roads , Mississippi Outdoors , Conversations, Farmweek , The Gestalt Gardner , and the News and Public Affairs Department helped to tell our state's story of rebuilding and rejuvenating the South Mississippi communities.

Beyond Katrina: A Volunteer's Story aired Dec. 28, 2006
In this 30-minute special, MPB examined the volunteer efforts in the gulf town of Pearlington by living and working a week through the struggles of local residents a year after Katrina.
