H.C. Porter, a photographer/painter raised in Jackson, works in Vicksburg. Her “Backyards and Beyond” exhibit about rebirth after Katrina returns to the Mississippi Museum of Art this summer. And Dub Brock, a painter/performer from McComb. He’s an art instructor at Southwest Mississippi Community College. As his alter ego Bobby Lounge, he’s a regular performer at the New Orleans Jazz Fest and continues to receive glowing reviews from Rolling Stone, Down Beat and the New York Times.

Sharon McConnell is a sculptor living and working in Como. She is best known for creating a large collection of “life masks” featuring Mississippi blues greats. McConnell is a rare talent because she is legally blind. Bebe Wolfe is the daughter of pioneering Mississippi artists Karl and Mildred Wolfe. She has carried on the family tradition with evocative paintings of her own.
