Memoirs of a confederate soldier once lost but now found. The book "Rebel Private: Front and Rear," written by William Fletcher as a record of his civil war experiences has been rediscovered and is back in print. His great grand daughter, Vallie Fletcher Taylor joins us with her account of a man gifted in word and thought and his life after the war.

We'll also look at the story of another self made man, a doctor, a south Mississippi country doctor, Hiram Benjamin Cowart, who lived, worked and ministered to the people of poplarville and the surrounding counties spanning the first half of the last century. Here to shed some light on the legend of this man is his granddaughter and author, Jane Marshall Brister.
