Yazoo City, situated between the Delta and the rolling hills, started as a planned community. Then it played a vital role in the Civil War. When we went to Yazoo City, we found historical sites, cultural centers, and fabulous famous sons.

Batik, bamboo, beautiful benches. Those are just some of the exotic imports finding their way to Mississippi. Come with us to a Gulfport store specializing in overseas treasures.

According to legend, the Witch of Yazoo City broke through the chains surrounding her grave and burned the city down. In our Classic Roads segment, the real good ole boy--Willie Morris--tells about that story and more.

On Walt's Way, we go digging through Mississippi's past. What did the people who lived here before history books do just to stay alive? By unearthing bits of a bygone time, we can learn more about what makes Mississippi unique.
