Mississippi Roads - (#2210) Mississippi River
9
Walt on Shore of Mississippi River
Canoeists on River
Paw Paw Island
River Bridge
Street in Friars Point

It's a road explored by De Soto and Marquette and Joliet. Join host Walt Grayson as we explore the original Mississippi Road--the Mississippi River.

Youngsters who grow up near the Mississippi River are taught to respect her. At the Quaspaw Canoe Company, you can learn to know the river by venturing out on her.

The river twists and turns down the western edge of our state. Some of those twists have lobbed off pieces of land. Paw Paw Island is one of the interesting places formed by the river.

Could we ever describe the river with mere words? Probably not. That's why we put together a flood of images of the Mighty Mississippi.

Towns along the water's edge have always been in jeopardy of floods and floating away. Friars Point may be the only river town in Mississippi that has managed to stay where is was built. Host Walt Grayson takes us there.
