There’s nothing odd about it, Northwood Village after-school students were excited to celebrate the 100th Day of School during our latest after-school program.

The afternoon started by active viewing an Odd Squad episode that challenged each student’s math skills.  Students showed great enthusiasm during a read aloud and retelling of “Hedgehog’s 100th Day of School” by Lynne Marie.

Students also enjoyed participating in a prediction activity to guess which bag of items totaled to 100.  After careful predictions were made, students went to work counting each item to find out which bag was correct.

Additionally, students enjoyed teaming up with each other to see which group could build the best 100th day cup tower. This project is funded by a Ready To Learn grant provided by the Department of Education to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
