Email share

Mabel Middleton's last day as a volunteer at MPB was January 19. What an incredible 17-year run for a woman who is a trailblazer.

Check out her bio: A writer and teacher, she grew up in Lexington, Va. After serving in the Women's Army Corps in World War II and graduating from Fisk University, she taught English in Mississippi. Dr. Middleton, whose family is from Monticello, Miss., received her ph.d from Southern Illinois University. And oh yes, she chaired the English Department at Jackson State. What an amazing person. As an MPB volunteer, there are none better.

May God be with you Dr. Middleton.
