Outage in South Mississippi

Email share

Due to a microwave transport malfunction, we are currently experiencing an outage at our south Mississippi towers locations (WMAW in Rose Hill and WMAH in McHenry). This outage affects both radio and television broadcasts. We have a technical crew on the scene to restore service as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience.

FAQ

What is a microwave system?

Microwave transmissions are a specific type of communications technology used in highly focused, directional-based broadcasting.

Why does MPB use this system?

MPB uses microwave signals to broadcast our signal from our station's headquarters in Jackson to the towers and stations we maintain across the state. This system is what allows us to broadcast the same signal statewide.
