Today marks two years since the first case of COVID-19 was detected in Mississippi. In the time since, the state has weathered one of the worst COVID crises in the country. Per the Department of Health, more than eight thousand Mississippians are confirmed to have died of the disease. That's not counting over four thousand more suspected COVID deaths.
