The Mississippi Gulf Coast hasn't had passenger rail service since Hurricane Katrina. Rail company Amtrak says it's now close to green-lighting a new line that would run from Mobile to New Orleans, with stops in the Mississippi cities of Biloxi, Gulfport, Pascagoula, and Bay St. Louis.

But that plan been met with opposition from freight company CSX, which says the route would disrupt its shipping operations along the Gulf Coast. The two sides have taken their dispute to the federal Surface Transportation Board, which is expected to rule on the matter within about a month.
