373,000 Mississippians are living with diabetes. Another 800 are at risk due to factors like family history.  In fact, Mississippi has the highest rate of diabetes in the nation.

That's why Irena McClain, Associate Director at the Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi welcomes some of the provisions of the recently-passed Inflation Reduction Act.  The bill contains language for making prescription drug prices more affordable, especially for those patients.  And it sets a spending cap of $35 on insulin for seniors with Medicare.

McClain speaks with our Kobee Vance on what the changes could mean for Mississippians.
