Today MSDH is reporting an additional 1,784 cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi and 32 deaths. Four deaths occurred between December 14, 2020 and January 2, 2021, and 28 occurred between November 7 and December 28, identified from death certificate reports. Mississippi's total of COVID-19 cases for the year now stands at 222,061, with 4,871 deaths. NOTE: A death in Simpson County was determined not to be COVID-19 related, and has been removed.
There are currently 234 ongoing outbreaks of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities.
