Today MSDH is reporting an additional 1,942 cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi and 33 deaths. Twenty-four deaths occurred between November 28 and December 4, and 9 occurred between October 22 and November 25, identified from death certificate reports. Mississippi's total of COVID-19 cases for the year now stands at 163,458, with 3,949 deaths.
Among cases and deaths already reported, MSDH has identified 87 new cases in residents of long-term care facilities, and 8 deaths. There are currently 200 ongoing outbreaks of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities.
