MSDH reports 2,205 new cases of COVID-19, 48 deaths

Today, MSDH is reporting an additional 2,205 cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi and 48 deaths. Thirty-two deaths occurred between December 8 and December 14, and 16 occurred between November 25 and December 10, identified from death certificate reports. Mississippi's total of COVID-19 cases for the year now stands at 183,300, with 4,252 deaths.

Among cases and deaths already reported, MSDH has identified 46 new cases in residents of long-term care facilities, and 19 deaths. There are currently 236 ongoing outbreaks of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities.
