MSDH reports 257 new COVID-19 cases, 8 new deaths

Today MSDH is reporting 257 new cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi and 8 new deaths (4 of which occurred between May 25 - June 4, identified from death certificate reports). Mississippi's total of COVID-19 cases since March 11 now stands at 19,348, with 889 deaths. Currently there are 475 Mississippians hospitalized with confirmed COVID-19 infection.

One of the new cases reported today was among residents in long-term care facilities, and there are now just 87 active outbreaks of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities (where an is one or more cases among residents or staff).
