MSDH is reporting an additional 271 cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi and 16 deaths. Two deaths occurred between March 20 and March 30, and 14 occurred between June 7, 2020, and March 20, identified from death certificate reports. Mississippi's total of COVID-19 cases now stands at 305,417, with 7,048 deaths.
Among cases and deaths already reported, MSDH has identified no additional cases in residents of long-term care facilities and 1 death. There are currently 15 ongoing outbreaks of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities.
