MSDH is reporting an additional 479 cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi and 21 deaths. Fifteen deaths occurred between February 21 and March 3, and 6 occurred between January 26 and February 23, identified from death certificate reports. Mississippi's total of COVID-19 cases now stands at 296,154, with 6,764 deaths.
Among cases and deaths already reported, MSDH has identified 3 new cases in residents of long-term care facilities and no deaths. There are currently 57 ongoing outbreaks of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities.
