Today, MSDH is reporting an additional 589 cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi and 36 deaths (15 of which occurred between July 31 and September 25, identified from death certificates). Mississippi's total of COVID-19 cases for the year now stands at 97,638, with 2,957 deaths.
Included in these totals are 56 new cases identified among residents in long-term care facilities, and 12 deaths. There are currently 125 active outbreaks of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities.
