Today, MSDH is reporting an additional 599 cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi and 14 deaths (five of which occurred between July 26 and August 19, identified from death certificates). Mississippi's total of COVID-19 cases for the year now stands at 81,294, with 2,413 deaths.
Today's cases included 10 among residents in long-term care facilities, and 5 resident deaths. There are now 159 active outbreaks of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities.
