Today MSDH is reporting an additional 609 cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi and 16 deaths. Nine deaths occurred between September 20 and October 2. Seven deaths occurred between July 11 and September 26, identified from death certificates. Mississippi's total of COVID-19 cases for the year now stands at 100,167, with 3,011 deaths.
Included in these totals are 32 new cases identified among residents in long-term care facilities, and 1 death. There are currently 122 ongoing outbreaks of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities.
