Today MSDH is reporting an additional 645 cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi and 17 deaths (5 of which occurred between August 29 and September 16, identified from death certificates). Mississippi's total of COVID-19 cases for the year now stands at 96,677, with 2,911 deaths.
Included in these totals are 27 new cases identified among residents in long-term care facilities, and 7 deaths. There are now 121 active outbreaks of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities.
