MSDH reports 701 new cases of COVID-19, 24 deaths

Today, MSDH is reporting an additional 701 cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi and 24 deaths (10 of which occurred between August 19 and September 6, identified from death certificates). Mississippi's total of COVID-19 cases for the year now stands at 91,935, with 2,780 deaths.

Long-term care facilities have reported 33 new cases among residents, and 6 deaths. There are now 131 active outbreaks of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities.
