Today MSDH is reporting an additional 791 cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi and 26 deaths. Twenty-two deaths occurred between January 20 and February 2, and 4 occurred between December 18 and January 28, identified from death certificate reports. Mississippi's total of COVID-19 cases now stands at 277,322, with 6,158 deaths.
Among cases and deaths already reported, MSDH has identified 11 new cases in residents of long-term care facilities and 3 deaths. There are currently 148 ongoing outbreaks of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities.
