Today MSDH is reporting 797 new cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi and 15 deaths. Mississippi's total of COVID-19 cases since March 11 now stands at 35,419, with 1,230 deaths.
Case totals include 32 newly identified cases among residents in long-term care facilities, with 7 new deaths. There are currently 106 active outbreaks of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities (where an outbreak is one or more cases among residents or staff).
Currently there are 703 Mississippians hospitalized with confirmed COVID-19 infection, and 260 with suspected COVID-19.
The rapid rise in new COVID-19 cases is now leading to rising deaths in the state. Lives depend on all Mississippians taking action against COVID-19. Practice strong social distancing and use a mask whenever you are away from home to prevent COVID-19 transmission.
