Today MSDH is reporting an additional 825 cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi and 37 deaths (6 of which occurred between July 30 and August 6, identified from death certificates). Mississippi's total of COVID-19 cases for the year now stands at 71,755, with 2,080 deaths.
Today's cases included 63 among residents in long-term care facilities, and 21 resident deaths. There are now 173 active outbreaks of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities.
