MSDH reports 870 new cases of COVID-19, 10 new deaths

Today MSDH is reporting 870 new cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi and 10 new deaths. Mississippi's total of COVID-19 cases since March 11 now stands at 28,770, with 1,092 deaths. 22 of the new cases reported today were among residents in long-term care facilities.

Record high new cases are now being followed by a sharp rise in long-term care facility outbreaks, which have increased to 101 today (up from just 73 two weeks ago).

There are now 101 active outbreaks of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities statewide (where an outbreak is one or more cases among residents or staff).

The number of Mississippians currently hospitalized with confirmed COVID-19 infection has risen to 602 today, along with 261 suspected COVID-19 cases hospitalized.
